Radar LakeDawson Creek
Follow the “Dangerous Goods Route” (the bypass road) southwest of Dawson Creek to reach the Radar Lake-Bear Mountain Recreation Area. This is a great spot to enjoy some bird watching or take a short hike on the interpretive trail. There’s a boat launch available for public use as well.
The wooded area around the lake is well known for the wide variety of songbirds and other species. Bird watchers have spotted hermit thrushes, woodpeckers, western tanagers and many other birds that are native to Canada. There aren’t many additional amenities available, but it’s just a few minutes away from town if you forget to pack a lunch.
