Heritage Village

Grande Prairie
The Heritage Village is an historical extension of the Grande Prairie Museum. Preservation efforts at the Village have allowed curators to display log cabins and other historic buildings from the Peace Country in a unique setting.
Location Family Arts & Culture

The Heritage Village is administered by the Grande Prairie Museum, and admission to the Museum and the Village is covered by the same entrance fee. The Heritage Village features log cabins and other structures from the pioneer days in the Grande Prairie region, and can be toured for a glimpse into the area’s past.

Among the historical buildings that have been preserved, visitors can tour log cabins, the Hermit Lake School House, the Queen Presbyterian Church and the old Grande Prairie Fire Hall. You can also tour a pioneer Blacksmith Shop and a Hudson Bay Outpost. Some classic automobiles are on display, and heritage gardens and flower beds are grown during the summer months. The Heritage Village in Grande Prairie is open seven days a week.
