A Fine Weekend for a Fair or Two

Aug 16, 2012

North Peace Fall Fair 2012 It is that time of year again, nights are getting cooler and the best way to spend the weekend is by taking the whole family to the fair.

This weekend we are proclaiming the weekend of fairs, with festivities taking place in Beaverlodge, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, and Peace River.

Whether you are a local to those areas or looking to go on a mini road trip, these fall fairs are an excellent way to check out some scenery and Peace Country vendors you may not know even existed.

Perhaps the biggest fair taken place this weekend is the North Peace Fall Fair, beginning in 1929. The North Peace Fall Fair is an all-encompassing event that ranges in everything from cribbage to canned goods to crochet. Without of exaggeration the North Peace Fall Fair has something for everyone.

The fair, which does not offer a midway or a beer garden, brings folks back to a simpler time, maintaining its roots as a superb yet traditional country fair.
