Honoring Heritage Day
Aug 3, 2012
This August long weekend there is a veritable smorgasbord of things to do in the Peace Region, if you don’t believe us check out our event calendar.
This Monday, August 6, Heritage Day celebrations are taking place across Alberta. In 1974 the Alberta Government declared the first Monday of August an annual holiday to recognize and celebrate the varied cultural heritage of Albertans.
A great way to spend the holiday Monday is at your local museum, most of which have special activities and demonstrations in honor of the holiday.
Churn some butter, ride on a tractor, take a tour, eat some food or dance the night away! There is a ton to do this holiday weekend no matter where you are.
