Follow the Music To Bushstock 2012
Jul 18, 2012
It is that time of year again to break out the camping equipment and guitars and head to the 9th annual Bushstock.
Bushstock is a showcase of local talent predominately from the Dawson Creek area, giving live bands and musicians a chance to showcase their music for hundreds of fans.
The event started with humble beginnings after the dissolution of ‘We Be Jammin’ music festival. There was a need for something different and Bushstock was created. Jeremy Linklater, who has been the show organizer for 8 years, is proud of the experience he has created not only to support local talent but to impact the community in a positive way.
Bushstock also serves as a donation-drive for The Salvation Army. Concert-goers are encouraged to donate generously to not only support a great cause, but also for an opportunity to win amazing prizes from a range of sponsors.
Linklater, who is an active community member in Dawson Creek, has not only organized the show - he will also be performing in two bands, Sandstone and Preservation by Destruction. When asked what band he was most looking forward to seeing he summed up that the greater reward than watching any one band is seeing the entire show come together and the enjoyment from the many music lovers.
String Theory will be closing the show on Friday with Folky Strum Strum to close on Saturday. Campers will be able to enjoy an abundance of different musical genres paired with an assortment of food vendors including Mr. Mikes who will be serving their classic Mike Burgers.
Today is the last day for advance purchase of tickets which is $30 per person and includes camping.
