Bud Country Fever Turns up the Heat
Jun 28, 2012
It is time to break out the cowboy boots and lawn chairs for Grande Prairie’s annual Bud Country Fever which begins tomorrow and goes until Sunday, July 1. Since 1995, concert-goers from far and wide have come to Evergreen Park for a weekend of music, icy beverages, and fun.
From humble beginnings, Bud Country Fever has grown to be one of Alberta’s best country music festivals. Scores of country music stars and a few name changes later, Bud Country Fever continues to draw crowds and entertain music fans of all ages.
This year, fans will have a chance to see headliners such as Craig Morgan, Billy Currington, and most surprisingly, Kevin Costner & the Modern West.
Leaving the Hollywood lights for a six string, Costner has been quoted as saying; “I always thought that music could build a stronger, more personal moment for me. It would create the opportunity for a genuine exchange much greater than the movie, TV interview or magazine. It would be real, full of mistakes and without apology, but most of all there would be the chance to have some fun.”
Going on its 17th year, there is no indication Bud Country Fever is slowing down with a continued support from the Grande Prairie and surrounding communities, this is an annual event that kicks off summer in the Peace.
