Champions of Chainsaw Carvings in Chetwynd

Starting today the residents of Chetwynd will welcome visitors from across the globe for the Annual Chetwynd International Chainsaw Carving Championship. The event which began in 2005 has visually defined Chetwynd as a carver’s paradise and a one of a kind destination for visitors.
Each intricately carved piece from the championship decorates pathways, parks, and gardens throughout the town; currently there are over 100 carvings throughout Chetwynd. Visitors are encourages to do self-guided tours of all pieces including winners and fan favourites.
The Annual Chetwynd International Chainsaw Carving Championship will be host`s to carvers coming from as far as Japan and Wales.
Over four fun filled days’ visitors can watch these artists transform logs into complete masterpieces, ending on June 10 with a quick carve event and the awards ceremony.
Chetwynd defines themselves as a community carved by success and is now officially known as the “Chainsaw Sculpture Capitol of the World.”
