Jun 5, 2012
Making the most of the warm summer months means spending as much time outside in our gorgeous region as possible. The We Go North region has a plethora of destination-worthy camp sites and lakes, such as Winagami Lake.
Winagami Lake is large and shallow which makes it an ideal spot for fishing and boating excursions. For land lovers, Winagami Lake has an excellent site for bird watching equipped with platforms and spotting scopes, as well as 20 kms of hiking trails.
The Provincial Park is located about 70 km southeast of the town of Peace River.
To reach Winagami Lake from Peace River, travel south on Highway 2 for 63 km to the town of Donnelly; take Highway 49 east and then south for 26 km, then turn east onto Secondary Road 679 and drive for approximately 11 km until you reach the short access road to Winagami Lake Provincial Park.
If you’re looking for a good place to spend some time this summer keep Winagami Lake on your travel radar.
