Sing with a Songbird in Lesser Slave Lake.
Jun 1, 2012
The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation is inviting you to their 17th annual Songbird Festival. If you are a resident of the Lesser Slave Lake area, or simply in the mood for a scenic drive this weekend, the Songbird Festival is definitely worth checking out.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, June 2, with an early morning pancake breakfast Guided bird hikes, workshops, and hands-on children’s activities will follow. Workshops include bat ecology and the change in bird banding operations.
The festival ends on Sunday, finishing with a bird trail run/walk which is open to all ages and still has open registration until Sunday morning at 9:30, so for those of you who weren’t early birds there is still time to register.
The cost to register is only $10 per person and includes refreshments as well as an authentic Adopt-a-bird certificate.
All proceeds from the Songbird Festival go directly to the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation which is the only educational and research facility that is strategically located to study boreal birds on their breeding grounds.
