Spring Into Shows
Mar 19, 2015
Friday, March 20, is the spring equinox, one of only two days in the year where night and day are the same length. It also happens to be the first day of spring – regardless of what the weather is doing.
Spring has long been celebrated the world over as a time of renewal and rebirth. To mark the turning of the seasons and the start of the new year, some people choose to plant a seed and pull a weed. The seed symbolizes their intentions for the new year, and the weed represents letting go of anything bad left over from the last year. Many people observe the beginning of spring with a good, old-fashioned spring cleaning.
Kicking off the first weekend of spring is the 6th annual Grande Prairie Woman’s Show – Spring Edition. It starts at 3 pm on Friday, March 20, and runs until 5 pm on Sunday, March 22, at Revolution Place. It is open until 9 pm on Friday,10 am - 5:30 pm on Saturday, and from 12 pm - 5 pm on Sunday.
