Mind Journey in Grande Cache
May 25, 2012
As the days get warmer we find ourselves drawn to the outdoors and again becoming one with nature; somehow trying to center yourself just doesn’t feel the same in the dead of winter when you can’t feel your toes!
Recently, the Town of Grande Cache has established a holistic approach to recreation and cultural activities for residents and tourists alike. Grande Cache is committed to preserving natural recreational landscapes continually developing outdoor quality of life.
One of the most original sites in Grande Cache is the Labyrinth Park. For thousands of years, cultures from all over the world have walked labyrinths for different purposes. A labyrinth is an ancient symbol for wholeness, using the path as a metaphor for the path of life.
The Labyrinth Park is the type of attraction where every person will have a different experience and take away a different meaning.
Labyrinths and mazes have often been misunderstood; when most people hear of a labyrinth they think of a maze. A maze is like a puzzle to be solved. It has twists, turns, and blind alleys.
A labyrinth has only one path. It is unicursal. The way in is the way out. There are no blind alleys. The path leads you on a circuitous path to the center and out again. A labyrinth is a right brain task. It involves intuition, creativity, and imagery.
At its most basic level the labyrinth is a metaphor for the journey to the center of your deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of whom you are.
Just another example of a must-see in our unique region. For more information visit the attraction listing.
