Take The Backstreets To Dawson
May 15, 2014
If you’re heading out to Dawson Creek this weekend, you’ll want to consider taking the backstreets. Which backstreets you ask? Why, none other than AJ, Nick, Howie, Kevin and Brian. The Backstreet Boys are back and Sunday, May 18th, they’re going to show the Encana Events Centre what they’re made of!
The Backstreet Boys are coming off an amazing year. Not only did they celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2013, but they also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013. Recently, they proudly took home a 2014 MTV Movie Award for their cameo performance in the Seth Rogen directed movie, “This Is the End.”
Sunday’s show is an extension of their tour that kicked-off in May 2013 in support of their eighth studio album, In A World Like This. With Kevin Richardson rejoining them in 2012, the In A World Like This tour marks their first tour as a quintet in seven years. Perhaps it is for this reason that the shows in North America have received an overwhelming response. Another reason for the success of their shows can easily be attributed the dedication and loyalty of their fans.
Last summer, crowds as large as 16,000 per night clamored to see the Backstreet Boys live. This literally blew the performers away. As Nick Carter says, “It’s amazing for all five of us to see and feel this kind of response.” In fact, it is due to the fans’ response that the Backstreet Boys decided to extend their tour into areas of Canada where they haven’t performed in a long time, including Dawson Creek. Nick Carter said, when announcing the extension of their tour, “How can we not come back and show our incredible fans this show?!”
The show at the Encana Events Centre is the second-last date in Canada before they head back down to the United States. It’s up to us to raise the bar and show the Backstreet Boys what fans in the “True North Strong and Free” are made of.
Don’t sit around at home feeling all “Black and Blue.” Head on over to Dawson Creek, hit up the Encana Events Centre and see why In A World Like This, the Backstreet Boys are “Larger than Life”.
