george canyon, country music, singer, musician, country western, canadian countryGeorge Canyon was about to take the stage in Lloydminster last Saturday evening when he received news about the tragic loss of his close friend, Bill Lovse, whom he had just seen that afternoon. Other performers may have cancelled upon hearing such news, but not George. It was a Christmas show for charity and he doesn’t believe in letting his fans down. This is the type of man that George Canyon is, although if you ask him, he would say that he is a man of faith and a devoted husband and father of two.

George Canyon will be bringing this devotion and faith to Grande Prairie this weekend when he performs at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church for “A Christmas Night of Worship”. George is most at home when he performs and it shows. You can’t be in the audience at one of George’s performances without feeling like you’re a part of his family.

Having sold over 350,000 albums, George Canyon is one of Canada’s favourite country music artists. In the past two years, he has been recognized as the most-played Canadian artist on Canadian country radio and one of the most requested stars on CMT (Country Music Television). George Clayton has also won multiple Juno, East Coast Music and Canadian Country Music Awards as well as a "Humanitarian of the Year Award" for his philanthropic endeavours.

In keeping with his philanthropic spirit, all proceeds of this weekend’s show in Grande Prairie will be donated to Compassion Canada and Rising Above.
