RAK Em' Up for Random Act of Kindness Day
Oct 31, 2013
If kindness is contagious, the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta is hoping for an epidemic this Friday, November 1st.
This will be the second Random Act of Kindness Day for the Peace Region and organizers are anticipating that this year will exceed the first; local acts of kindness can be recorded on RakEmUp Peace Region Kindness Meters across Facebook, including one on the We Go North page.
So you may be asking yourself, how can I make a difference on RAK Day? An act of kindness can be big or small, have monetary value or not. The idea is it is a day to recognize kindnesses no matter how big or small they can be.
And while being kind to each other is something a community should strive to do every day, sometimes a concerted effort is the perfect incentive to spread that message, which is what the Foundation strives to do on Friday.
Random Act of Kindness Day cards and buttons will be circulating around our region. Both businesses and citizens are encouraged to be a part of the day by being an active participant in paying it forward with simple acts of kindness.
