A Taste of Fall in Fort St. John
Sep 19, 2013
As fall approaches, many communities in the Peace Region choose to celebrate local business. In Fort St. John not only can you celebrate local establishments, you can taste them. The town is celebrating their annual Fall Harvest Taste of the Town, September 18 – 22.
During the event, residents and visitors can sample dishes from the eight local restaurants taking part this year. All dishes will incorporate local food from the fall harvest, and are often offered at a discounted price.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to support our local producers and restaurants while sampling fresh, locally grown and produced products,” said event organizer Sonia Wiebe, recreation programmer for the city of Fort St. John.
Featured restaurants on the Fall Harvest Taste of Town’s docket include Lil Ava’s Pizza, Burgers & Brew, Casey’s Pub, Jackfish Dundee’s, Kiwis Coffee House, Olio’s Pizza, Patch Java and the Whole Wheat & Honey Café.
During this succulent event, chefs are encouraged to let their creativity run wild by incorporating as many Peace Region ingredients in their dishes as they can.
If that weren’t enough, not only will you get to fill your belly, you may get to fill your wallet with a gift certificate from the Fort St. John Farmers Market. All receipts from participating restaurants during the event will be entered to win.
