Twelve Years Strong, Grizfest Still Rocks
Jul 31, 2013
Last year, Canadian sensations Carly Rae Jepsen and Emerson Drive took the stage at Grizfest. This year, the line-up will be just as good with a range of top Canadian performers including Dragonette, George Canyon, wide Mouth Mason and more!
Grizfest, which is known for its emphasis on Canadian talent, is continuing to luck-out with top-grossing artists like Dragonette, an electro-pop act with a glam persona that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Scissor Sisters, No Doubt and the Killers.
The picturesque town of Tumbler Ridge has started to make a presence on the music festival scene. The festival, which receives much of its support from local business, has grown to quadruple the size in the last twelve years.
On average, 2,500 music-lovers will come together each day on the local secondary school’s field to take part in the tunes, scenery, and more.
Grizfest, which was originally started to keep town spirit alive in a time when local tourism was on the decline, has now reunited community spirit with a love for Canadian music while showcasing the beautiful region that is Tumbler Ridge.
Aside from the music, Grizfest will also have other attractions to offer including a golf tournament, helicopter rides, and many family-focused activities like bouncy castles and Dan the Balloon Man.
