Youth Remind us of Canadian Roots
Apr 29, 2013
This Friday, May 3, students from across the Peace Region will be presenting their heritage projects for the Northern Alberta Regional Heritage Fair. The fair is meant to give students an opportunity to exhibit projects based on their own personal heritage or a significant moment in Canadian history to the general public.
This event, which is presented by the GP Museum and Heritage Discovery Centre, was created to celebrate cultural diversity in our region while also raising public awareness of our own Canadian heritage. The Heritage Fair, which runs from noon until 2pm on Friday at the Montrose Cultural Centre, will feature well over 100 students and displays.
Student presenters are graded on the depth of their research and the number of sources used to complete their historical story.
This event is a fabulous way to support the youth in our community and take in some rich Canadian stories.
