Picnic Perfect Places in the We Go North Region

Muskoseepi Park Grande Prairie We Go North Guest Blog - written by J McDonald

Picnic season is upon us, and I think these are the three great places to have a family picnic in and around the We Go North region.

Muskoseepi Park

Located in the heart of Grande Prairie, Muskoseepi  has a lot to offer for families wanting to get out and enjoy the sun. The 1100 acre park features an outdoor pool, mini-golf, playgrounds, a museum, skater-park and walking trails. During the summer months, Muskoseepi holds Canada day celebrations and other festivities.

O'Brien Provincial Park

Located  on the Wapiti River 10km south of Grande Prairie, O'Brien Park is the ideal short getaway from the hustle and bustle of Grande Prairie. The park has BBQ pits, swimming and washroom facilities. The folk of the Peace Region spend their time on the river kayaking, boating or fishing. Good times for the whole family.

Saskatoon Island Provincial Park

Saskatoon Island Park features nature trails, boating, picnic areas, camping spots and interpretive guides. Wildlife sightings in the Park are very common, so bring your camera or binoculars for a possible glimpse of a Trumpeter swan.

To check out more great picnic spots in the Peace check some of the We Go North listings.
