Heading to Mile Zero City for a Meltdown

Mar 26, 2013

Volbeat Dawson Creek One of the most anticipated rock releases of 2013 is coming from Danish rockers Volbeat, who are set to release their fifth album ‘Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies’ in early April.

Tomorrow night, March 27, Peace Region fans might be lucky enough to get a live sample of the new record when the band plays their double-bill show, ‘Mile Zero Meltdown’ at the EnCana Events Centre in Dawson Creek.

Playing to a nearly sold-out crowd, Volbeat is sure to deliver fans a fresh fusion of punk and rockabilly. The band’s sound is inspired by classic rock and roll artists such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, as well as more contemporary hard rock, punk rock and metal bands, such as AC/DC, Social Distortion, The Misfits and Metallica.

Sharing the spotlight with the Danish rockers will be Canada’s own Danko Jones, who are touring to promote their newest album, ‘Rock and Roll Is Black And Blue’. Danko Jones who formed in 1996 dishes out equal parts metal, hard rock and even punk. Clear influences of Motorhead, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses and even The Clash can be heard, on any one of Danko Jones' seven studio albums over the years.

Tomorrow night will feature a blend of classic and contemporary rock shredded by some modern punk warriors.
