Take Me to Church
Feb 1, 2013
Hard to believe that on a Friday most Peace Country music lovers can’t wait for Monday. On February 4, country star Eric Church will be bringing his Blood, Sweat, and Beers Tour to the EnCana Events Centre.
Considered by Rolling Stone magazine to be ‘one of Nashville’s sharpest young songwriters', Church first hit the Billboard Charts in 2006 with a number one album to follow. Since then, he has scored a few Grammy nods, countless singles and a multitude of industry awards for his down-home melodies.
Beyond the music, Church fans are in for quite a show, for the Blood, Sweat, and Beers Tour was recently noted on the New York Times list of Best Concerts for 2012. Even more impressive is that Church was the only country music star to make the list.
The "Drink in My Hand" singer gives partial credit to an iconic rocker for helping shape his performance style, admitting he took notes when opening for Bob Seger back in 2006.
Church’s goal is to deliver a high-energy performance that gives his fans the most bang for their buck.
Opening for Church is Colt Ford, whose latest album 'Declaration of Independence' was released in August 2012. Along with being a country musician, Ford is a former professional golfer.
