Staycation We Go North Sometimes you do not need a boarding pass to have a get-away, more people now are opting to take a staycation; whether it is a weekend or a few days off a staycation can be a great way to unwind, de-stress, and take in what your area has to offer.

We Go North has thought of a few tips on how to take the perfect staycation:

Dine Out:

This is the perfect opportunity to eat at places you wouldn’t normally, like that divine bistro that is only open from 11-2. Try to stay away from your typical haunts and let your palate do some exploring; you may even want to take a drive and see what you discover.

Remember you are on vacation:

Just because you are not in a hotel or a new city doesn’t mean you can’t do all the same things you would normally do on vacation. Also, try to refrain from housework, as tempting as it is to wash the floors, ban your to-do list for the time.

This one is probably the most difficult, while we feel like we are relaxing it is so tempting to sneak a peek on Facebook or do some online retail therapy. Don’t worry, your computer will still be there when you get back from your staycation!

Don’t Be Afraid to Splurge:

If you are anything like us, we tend to feel guilty when we splurge at home. Our mentality is to save so that we can splurge while we are traveling to some exotic destination. This is an excellent way to support some local retailers while indulging your shopping addiction.

Share ideas and photos from your staycation with us on the We Go North Facebook page.
