Description

The Fort St. John North Peace Museum is pleased to present the exhibit Voices of the Alaska Highway: Experiencing the Construction of the Alaska Highway through the Photographs of Rudy Schubert. The construction of the Alaska Highway in 1942 affected the lives of nearly everyone in the area. As one of the official photographers for the American Army, Rudy Schubert captured the experiences of the American soldiers as well as the people living in the local communities. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the construction of the Alaska Highway, we invite you to travel through Schubert’s photographs and see for yourself what the construction of the highway was like for the people on the ground. This exhibit is on display at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum from August 20, 2017 to November 30, 2017.
